There's a nearly unlimited amount of ink that could be spilled on all the different ways in which Jay-Z apologizes on 4:44, but from an interpersonal perspective, it seems he succeeds in achieving his goal: Beyonc é appears to signal her acceptance of his apology with some outro-singing on the aptly-named "Family Feud." On the album's title track, he says the word "apologize" seven times-for womanizing, for falling short, for being emotionless, etc. The same sins alluded to on her Lemonade album ("Better call Becky With The Good Hair") torment Jay-Z as he seeks absolution on 4:44 ("I'll f**k up a good thing if you let me / Let me alone, Becky"). That line, and much of the album, appears to be dedicated to further apologizing to Beyonc é for various marital transgressions.
